Tucked into the mountain town of Mestia, the former home of legendary Georgian climber Mikheil Khergiani tells the story of a life spent going higher. Known as the “Tiger of the Rocks”, Khergiani became one of Georgia’s most celebrated mountaineers. His house is now a small museum filled with climbing equipment, photographs, personal objects and stories from the early days of Georgian alpinism.

It feels less like a formal museum and more like stepping into the world of a mountain pioneer — a place to understand the people, risks and spirit behind Svaneti’s climbing culture.
